Chapter Summaries post 3

PART III: GOLD

Chapter 20; THE HOUSE MARS
Darrow is afraid of what Cassius will do once he finds out that Darrow killed his brother. Once the survivors meet, Darrow makes the decision of not telling Cassius about how Julian died.
Chapter 21; OUR DOMINION
While running, Darrow and Cassius spot food set out to as trap by house Ceres. This act of madness strengthens their relationship, but it also makes house Mars realize how partial the game really is due to the other house gaining more luxuries than Mars. Fitchner introduces the house standard that is required to make slaves.
Chapter 22; THE TRIBES
Cassius and Darrow's relationship strengthens in front of the house as the house mates try electing a leader before primus. Roque, Darrow, Cassius, Lea, and Quinn team up while others do the same, leaving the competition between Darrow, Cassius, Antonia, and Titus for primus.
Chapter 23; FRACTURE
Word has been going around about Sevro's disappearance. Back at the house Darrow has an unpleasant encounter with Titus and his gang, due to Titus finding out that Darrow has had matches all along, while the housemates starved.
Chapter 24; TITUS'S WAR
Darrow and his crew quickly evacuate the house as Titus has sent his men after them. People from house Ceres have stopped coming out, due to Titus's brutality towards the Ceres slaves.
Chapter 25; TRIBAL WAR
Titus has been beating up girls for some time now, and Darrow's tribe decided to make a plan to take him down. Unfortunately this plan didn't go well, and led to Quinn being beaten and loosing and ear. Cassius was beaten and urinated on by Titus, which ruined his reputation.
Chapter 26; MUSTANG
Darrow and Cassius spot a rider, who turns out to be the girl on the pony, back when Darrow was learning how to ride. She goes by the name Mustang and is from the house Minerva, and easily leads Darrow and Cassius into a trap. As Darrow and Cassius struggle to stay alive, goblin (Sevro) comes to their rescue. They find the Minervan’s castle and raid it, Darrow also comes to know that mustang's real name is Antonia.
Chapter 27; THE HOUSE OF RAGE
The reaper and the mighty Pax au Telemanus finally have their first encounter. Darrow manages to escape and go negotiate with mustang about the Ceres slaves, during which mustang mentions the Jackal.
Chapter 28; MY BROTHER
Darrow finds Titus in the cellar, beaten up. While Titus tells Darrow his story and why he raped all those girls, he accidentally lets a word slip and Darrow realizes that Titus was a red like him.
Chapter 29; UNITY
Darrow sentences Titus to death because he believes that he puts every red carved into a gold at risk. Titus is executed by the hands of Cassius. Fitchner also reveals that the Jackal is the ArchGoverner's son.
Chapter30; HOUSE DIANA
Sevro and the reaper find house Diana, where Darrow negotiates an agreement with Tamara (head of house Diana) to help him take down house Minerva, and in return he will help them take down house Ceres.
Chapter 31; THE FALL OF MUSTANG
To create a distraction to Darrow's ulterior motive, he challenges Pax to a duel. By hiding the soldiers of house Mars and the soldiers of house Diana in the bellies of dead horses, Darrow wins house Minerva, but let’s Mustang live.  
Chapter 32; ANTONIA
As well as winning house Minerva, Darrow also manages to siege house Diana. An emissary from house Pluto sent by the Jackal leaves a message and a pouch for Cassius. On the other hand, Lea leads Darrow into a trap set by Antonia, where Antonia then kills Lea, and Roque has disappeared.
Chapter 33; APOLOGIES
Cassius finds out that Darrow was the one who killed Julian due to the holo sent by the Jackal. Cassius lures Darrow away from the castle and both of them engage in a duel. In the end, Cassius drives his ion blade through Darrow’s stomach.
